A Neuro-Oncologist is a physician specially trained in the diagnosis and treatment of brain tumors. Dr. Fink is one of a few Neuro-Oncologists in the County.
Our neuro-oncologist, Dr. Karen Fink is supported by a nurse practitioner, Vanessa Nestor, who has received advanced training in caring for patients with brain tumors, and a nursing staff with extensive experience with chemotherapy and investigational agents for brain tumor patients. Together, our goal is to provide you with warm and compassionate, state-of-the-art care in a bright and friendly environment.
While a patient is under the care of Neuro-Oncology Associates, the patient's referring physician, neurosurgeon, oncologist or primary care physician remains a part of the health care team. The neuro-oncology team works in concert with a patient's team of physicians, providing updates on a patient's progress as desired.
Our physicians participate in semi-monthly multi-disciplinary conferences on caring for patients with brain tumors. In the continuing effort to improve outcomes and quality of life for brain tumor patients neuro-oncologists, medical oncologists, neurosurgeons, neuro-pathologists, radiation oncologists and neuro-radiologists review and discuss the best possible treatment options as well as the newest investigational approaches.
