At Baylor Scott & White Neuro-Oncology Associates, tumors of the brain, central nervous system, and peripheral nervous system are treated with dedication, innovation, and quality care. Drs. Fink and Melguizo-Gavilanes manage the diagnoses and treatment of a variety of brain tumors. Treatment options are individualized based on the type of tumor diagnosed and may include one or a combination of the following: neurosurgery, radiosurgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and/or clinical trials. Our team of compassionate and highly trained care provider's work with patients and their families to find a treatment that will offer the best possible outcome.

Patients with brain tumors experience a variety of complex issues, including the need to mobilize family and financial resources. As part of our commitment to our patients, we offer social work service, assessment of care needs and access to medication assistance programs.


Chemotherapy

Oral and IV chemotherapy is often an appropriate treatment option for patients with brain tumors. Patients who require IV chemotherapy receive this therapy in a bright and cheerful suite, conveniently located in our office.



Clinical Research

Dr. Fink is an active participant in the Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative, a consortium of medical institutions studying new treatments for brain tumors.

Neurosurgery

Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC) at Dallas has several neurosurgeons on staff who are specially trained to operate on brain tumors. The neurosurgery operating suites at BUMC at Dallas are equipped with advanced interoperative localization and neuronavigation systems that allow a complete removal of brain tumors.

Radiosurgery

Baylor Radiosurgery Center allows some tumors that are inoperable to be treated with targeted doses of radiation. Baylor Radiosurgery Center offers a full range of sophisticated radiosurgical options by combining two of the most innovative radiosurgical systems available; the Gamma Knife and the Cyberknife.
